It’s finally summer and I still have no fixed plans. I’ve been awfully busy though -- family days, tweeting, discovering (good) things on the internet, and such. I’m glad I don’t have my summer all planned out; it’s spontaneous! I love spontaneity.
Basically, this is merely a post on what I’ve been up to on the first four weeks of my most favourite season of the year.
Mum allowed me and my sister to sleep at our grandparents’ house for two weeks, mainly because Mama and Papa needed someone to help them out. It was an opportunity to get to know more about my grandparents -- that Mama is a coffee junkie just like me, that Papa doesn’t want us to feel he’s a drag because of his age, that Mama still loves watching WWE, and that Papa’s finally quit smoking.
My most favourite cousin, Ate Rae, was my sleepover buddy. Thanks to her, we had midnight snacks, more fun, and more company.
Aside from finally socialising with my extended family, I’ve expanded my music library. It’s not that I’m getting sick and tired of One Direction and Ed Sheeran, but I wanted to explore more genres -- such as indie. My friend Jiona gave tons of suggestions on who I should listen to and which band I should check out. I’m glad I gave indie music a chance; I’m currently in love with Marina & the Diamonds, Passenger, Two Door Cinema Club, and Lana del Rey.
Instagram has made its way to my list of favourite apps. Taking photos of what I ate, what I wore, or who I was with have become a habit. I don’t know if it’s good or bad though. Ironic, because this post has no pictures. I’m sorry. I guess I should use my camera more often.
Have I mentioned that I discovered a ton of overlays for photo editing? Overlays are those cute, white, transparent (most of the time) designs used in editing pictures. Thank God it hasn’t become a mainstream thing yet.
Did I mention that I’m really being serious with losing weight? It’s a challenge but I hope I succeed. One of my year-long goals is to say no to ice cream. I deeply regret thinking of that, to be really honest, but it’s for the best.
I hope you’re having a productive and spontaneous summer like me!
