Getting to know you

It’s been a while since I last posted, since school’s starting to become stressful again. Fortunately, being a ‘computer addict’, I still find time to go online. So I decided to post for the sake of updating and keeping this blog up.

For this post, I want you all to get to know me better. I have a few facts about me that would probably make you know me the way I know myself. Like Sam from The Perks of Being a Wallflower, I want people to like me for me, and not just for what they think of me.

Well, here are things about me, and I do hope you find me interesting. I’ll be doing things like this from time to time, because I kinda easily forget.

  1. I have this habit of googling a celebrity after I encounter them (movie, TV show, personal encounter, and the like). I scan through their wikipedia page (or fansite) and instantly check their personal lives. This is weird, but I really want the people I adore to be happy in real life, and not just on tv or on the big screens.
  2. I easily get attached. Materialistically speaking or not, I get attached. If I lose the person or thing I’m starting to get attached to, I’d get sad.
  3. I get an adrenaline rush whenever I speak in front of people. I’ve experienced this during a performance task in Public Speaking (English Elective) and a contest a year ago.
  4. And whenever I speak in front of people, I speak with my American accent. I don’t know if it’s an American accent, but most of my audience tell me I’ve got an accent when I talk.
  5. I started wearing glasses at age 3. It was hereditary -- got it from my mum.
  6. I traced my roots a few months back, and it showed that I wasn’t 100% Filipino. I have traces of Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, and French. And I’ve realised that Filipino is a mixed race, so I guess that makes me super hybrid?
  7. I am an anglophile. No, it wasn’t because of One Direction. It was kind of because of Harry Potter. I fancied their accents so much.
  8. Speaking of accents, I have the ability of mimicking accents. I can do British, Australian, and American accents. I am still trying to perfect my French and German accents.
  9. I always practice the way I speak, so I read articles on the front page of our newspaper out loud.
  10. I try not to care about what other people say about me, but when people I love criticise me or judge me, I end up getting too conscious.

  1. I know what you mean. RIGHT after i watch a movie I have to look the acters up... it's quite fun. ;)

    1. Yeah, it is! It’s like you get to know them more than just an actor, which I find really interesting for no reason. :-)
